The fourteenth-century work of significant artistic interest is a tempera panel painting measuring cm 102×69 with a painted frame on a punched gold ground with small stars, depicting the Virgin with the Child sucking milk.

Address: Town Council Chamber, Piazza Rsorgimento 1, 12051 Alba, CN Barnaba da Modena’s “Madonna che allatta il Bambino” or "Madonna del Latte", a precious painting from around 1380, is on display in the Town Council Chamber, in the heart of Alba’s historic centre. The fourteenth-century work, of significant historical and artistic interest, is a tempera panel painting measuring cm 102x69 with a punched gold ground with small stars, depicting the Virgin Mary with the Child sucking milk. The exhibition is structured as a route of 11 projects: 9 by Italian designers - seven of which recount as many territories of the country through local materials, practices and knowledge - and 3 developed within the international residency of Kortrijk, presented in Turin thanks to the collaboration with Designregio Kortrijk.

The exhibition also highlights the photographer's desire to tell the story of the soul of her land, Palermo and Sicily, returning both light and shadow: the daily difficulties and the dignity of people, love and joy, the beauty in young faces, the ritual and identity dimension of religious festivals, up to the moving realities of life in a psychiatric hospital. The exhibition path is completed by 22 magazines with which the photographer collaborated and of which, in some cases, she was also founder and publisher, in addition to a docufilm about her life.

Through paintings, sculptures, photographs, posters and more than forty garments from Turin tailoring houses, the exhibition highlights the value of a predominantly female production that at the beginning of the twentieth century was a fundamental economic pillar. The narrative is divided into four sections marked by the great Expositions.
