About I Love Piedmont
I Love Piedmont is an events calendar for Piedmont, run from a farmhouse in the hills near Asti.
It started as a printed sheet on a kitchen table. We restored a house in Mongardino, in the Monferrato hills, and rent it out to guests through the year. Every arriving family asked the same question: what is on this week? The answer was never easy. Piedmont has an extraordinary density of sagre, wine fairs, village festivals, concerts in courtyards and truffle markets, but the information sits scattered across hundreds of comune websites, regional tourist boards, Facebook pages and paper posters taped to bar windows. Most of it is only in Italian, and most of it is published two weeks before the event and taken down the day after.
So we started keeping a list for our own guests. The list grew. This site is that list, opened up to everyone.
What we do
We collect events from official municipal and regional sources across all eight provinces of Piedmont, check the date and the place, sort them by area and by the kind of day out they are, and publish them in English and Italian. Where an event has a real programme we describe it. Where a source gives us nothing but a title and a date, we say so rather than inventing detail.
What we do not do
We do not sell tickets and we are not an agency. We do not take payment to rank an event higher in the calendar. Where a listing is paid for, it carries the word Sponsored. Where a link earns us a commission, it says so on the spot.
Who runs it
I Love Piedmont is published by Floor Hendriks. You can reach us through our contact page.
Corrections
Organisers and readers: if a date has moved or a listing is wrong, tell us and we will change it, usually the same day. We would rather be corrected than be wrong.
