Address: Piazza Castello Turin (TO) The exhibition project, of exceptional scientific and cultural importance, is part of the prestigious Incontro con il capolavoro series, the initiative created to reread the great masters of art history in an innovative key. The exhibition is the result of the synergistic collaboration between the Fondazione Culturale Mandralisca ETS and Palazzo Madama – Civic Museum of Ancient Art of Turin. The event offers an extraordinary and completely unprecedented opportunity in the cultural landscape: to place in direct dialogue two of the greatest masterpieces of European Renaissance portraiture, both created by the brilliant hand of master Antonello da Messina. At the center of the exhibition path is the comparison between two iconic works, each guarding a mysterious charm and a penetrating expressiveness that has never stopped fascinating and questioning scholars and visitors: the enigma of their iconic smile.
