Il corpo della città
15 October 2026 — 22 February 2027 · Torino

Venue: Palazzo Madama. Address: Piazza Castello - Turin. Organizer: Palazzo Madama Turin A fascinating journey through a century of history that explores the evolution of the city through the representation, discipline and liberation of the human body. The project highlights the symbiotic relationship between urban growth, social change and the world of fashion, art and culture. Through paintings, sculptures, photographs, posters and more than forty garments from Turin tailoring houses, the exhibition highlights the value of a predominantly female production that at the beginning of the twentieth century was a fundamental economic pillar. The narrative is divided into four sections marked by the great Expositions. It begins with bourgeois Turin of the late nineteenth century, told through the paintings of Enrico Junck and Enrico Reycend, moving on to the Art Nouveau turning point marked by the sculptures of Edoardo Rubino for the International Exhibition of Modern Decorative Art of 1902. The itinerary crosses the twenties and thirties through the painting of Felice Casorati, the research of the Six of Turin, the experimentation of futurist photography by Italo Bertoglio and Ottorino Gramaglia
