Fira 'd la calà di Bobbio Pellice

The Fira 'd la calà marks in Bobbio Pellice, in Val Pellice, the end of the grazing season and the return of the livestock to the valley. The herds cross the village streets and the day is accompanied by Occitan songs and traditional costumes. At the stalls, chestnuts are cooked in many ways and are accompanied by honey, aged cheeses, cured meats and traditional sweets. There are also polenta concia, hot soups, hazelnut cakes and wine.
