Place: Bobbio Pellice The Fira 'd la Calà of Bobbio Pellice is an event rooted in the alpine tradition of the Val Pellice, celebrating one of the most significant moments of the Piedmont rural calendar: the return of livestock from the summer pasture. It is not a simple food festival, but a community celebration that authentically recalls the rhythms of mountain life and the indissoluble bond between people, animals and the territory. Chestnuts are the absolute stars, appearing in recipes that tell the culinary history of the region: from polenta concia to the comforting warmth of soups, from hazelnut cakes to traditional sweets, all washed down with robust local wines. But alongside the genuine flavors of the mountains there are also aged cheeses, selected cured meats and the sweet nectar of honey, in an enogastronomic journey that enhances local producers and excellences. What makes this festival unique is the immersive atmosphere created by Occitan songs, traditional costumes and above all by the passage of the herds along the village streets: a moment of pure magic that transports visitors into the beating heart of the mountain community
