The regional entry describes the program as follows: Two consecutive appointments, one week apart, for the fair, born in 1967 but which has its roots in the ancient agricultural and commercial tradition dating to 1530 with the feast of San Martino, which takes place in Lower Piedmont, a land historically recognized as a treasure chest of the finest truffles of Italian gastronomic heritage, in that ancient village in the province of Alessandria, better known as “Land of Truffles”. Here during the two fair Sundays “Trifolau” hunters and traders, inside the Palatartufo, the fair pavilion, guarantee the best White Fine Truffles also with Municipal Denomination (De.Co.). All truffles put on sale are previously inspected and authorized by the National Truffle Study Center (CNST) of Alba: those deemed unsuitable, temporarily seized, are returned at the end of the day.
