Address: via Angelo Barabino 10 - 15057 Tortona The figure of Giuseppe Pellizza da Volpedo and his artistic path play a central role within the Pinacoteca il Divisionismo – Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Tortona and are closely intertwined with those of another “person from Tortona”, Angelo Barabino, both united by an inseparable bond with the area in which their art matured. The relationship of friendship and esteem with Paolo Barabino, the master Angelo’s nephew, encouraged the Foundation to request the availability, through the form of a long-term loan, of the house with the adjoining studio where the painter lived from around 1915 until a few weeks before his death, which occurred in Milan in November 1950. The Foundation’s aim was to recreate the painter’s and his family’s original living spaces, just as the Barabino family shaped them over time and now, in a gesture of great generosity, has decided to make available for public enjoyment.
