BODY OF MEMORY - STAGIONE TEATRALE 2026/2027

Address: via Ammiraglio Mirabello 3 Teatro Civico - 15057 Tortona for the WE SPEAK DANCE festival Body of Memory represents the arrival point of a long artistic and personal journey by the internationally renowned Franco-Algerian choreographer Hervé Koubi. In this intense and visionary creation, born from research begun in 2009 around the themes of memory and identity, Koubi explores his Algerian roots through a dance that intertwines Mediterranean suggestions, popular traditions and urban energy. On stage, twelve extraordinary dancers from hip hop and street dance bring to life a powerful and fluid choreography, made of contacts, lifts and dizzying rotations, where athletic virtuosity and delicacy coexist in perfect balance. Between lights sculpted in the dark and a musical score that combines Bach, Sufi music and the compositions of Hamza El Din, Body of Memory builds a poetic bridge between East and West, evoking a suspended time, a collective rite on the margins of the sacred. choreography Hervé Koubi choreography assistants Guillaume Gabriel, Fayçal Hamlat with Gruev Vladimir, Maamar Bendehiba, Benr Guibi Badr, Elhilali Mohammed, Mijem Houss
