Venue: Various locations. Address: Various locations, Via Nizza 230 int. 103, Turin, TO The most important exhibition dedicated to the work of Alberto Savinio (1891, Athens – 1952, Rome), an intellectual among the leading figures of twentieth-century European culture. The exhibition brings together about 75 works, including paintings and drawings, offering a broad and articulate reinterpretation of his pictorial research from the twenties to the early fifties. The exhibition path follows the evolution of his research through some of the most significant themes in his work: references to the classical world and the Greece of his childhood, the theme of memory, family portraits, hybrid figures between man and animal, the famous “toys”, anthropomorphic landscapes and graphic work, which in the last years of his career takes on increasing autonomy.
