From the end of the eighteenth century, when French cuisine was the law, to the First World War, the exhibition follows Italians at the table: from the café to the restaurant, from the osteria to the piola, from Cavour to Pellegrino Artusi. Food as a key to reading the society, economy, and politics of a country that was being made, even on the plate.
