Organizer: Lo Pan Ner From Saturday 3 to Sunday 25 October the appointment with “Lo Pan Ner” returns, the great cross-border festival of black bread that brings the Alps and their inhabitants together around the ancient act of bread-making. This year, the event celebrates its tenth anniversary with an exceptional programme: for the first time, the entire month of October will be dedicated to bread, with the community ovens of Val d’Ossola and Verbano being lit again for a very rich, fragrant and engaging calendar of events. “Lo Pan Ner” promises to be a true journey through flavours, stories and traditions. Eighteen villages are taking part in the initiative, creating a great Bread Community that grows every year. From 4 to 26 October, on weekends, the Ossola and Verbano communities will join other villages from Piemonte, Valle d’Aosta, Lombardia, Switzerland, France and Slovenia to share the ritual of “making bread”. The event is not only the enhancement of a very ancient tradition, but a unique opportunity to rediscover hidden villages and to meet people and their stories.
