Organiser: Fondazione FS Italiane The historic Turin–Canelli train returns, a slow journey into the heart of the most authentic Piedmont landscape, included in the format of the Itinerari d’Autore by FS Treni Turistici Italiani. The train crosses UNESCO World Heritage hills, stretches of neatly ordered vineyards and villages suspended in time, aboard the iconic Centoporte carriages, symbol of twentieth-century Italian railways, with their essential interiors, wide windows and the rustic charm of wood. First of all, the appointment is for every Sunday from 1 to 22 November 2026, with departure and return on the same day. The itinerary links Turin, Lingotto, Bra, Alba and Canelli, a city famous for the Underground Cathedrals, grand cellars carved into tuff, guardians of a centuries-old winemaking tradition. Kicking off the season will be a special date: on 1 November the train will travel under steam traction, the absolute protagonist of twentieth-century railway history. The white plume, the rhythmic sound of the pistons and the unmistakable aroma of coal will turn the inaugural journey into an authentic plunge into the period atmosphere.
