Among the hills of Alto Vergante, overlooking Lake Maggiore, Fosseno di Nebbiuno celebrates the Strawberry Festival every year, an event that pays tribute to an agricultural tradition rooted in the ’60s, when the village was famous for the production of the prized Madame Mouton strawberry. Organized by the Nuova Famiglia Fossenese del Cucù, the festival takes place on the first weekend of June and offers a rich market of fresh strawberries, artisanal jams and typical sweets. The signature dish of the event is the renowned strawberry risotto, served during lunches and dinners under the marquee in the square. Live music, DJ sets and entertainment enliven the festive days, also giving visitors the chance to discover charming spots such as the church of Sant’Agata and the scenic Sasso del Pizzo.
