Treasures of elegance and identity in Ossola" is a widespread exhibition that offers a glimpse of Ossolan taste at the turn of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, in the venues of: Palazzo San Francesco (Piazza Paola Angela Ruminelli 1) Casa De Rodis (Piazza Repubblica dell'Ossola 1) in Domodossola and the Old Town Hall Cultural Centre (Piazza Risorgimento 20 bis) in the Municipality of Santa Maria Maggiore. At the Palazzo San Francesco venue, some artefacts from the collections of the then Galletti Foundation are presented; the initiative, which aims to enhance the heritage of museum storerooms, places these little-known objects in dialogue with works from private collections, mostly unpublished. This opens up new avenues of research useful for understanding the ethnographic, commercial and taste-related links that contributed to the construction of Ossolan elegance.
