Lenz Geerk – Theatre of the mind

Location: Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo. Address: Via Modane, 16 - Turin. Organizer: Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo. End: 19:00 In Geerk’s paintings, human figures, objects, and landscapes coexist within existential scenarios, in which each element contributes to the representation of psychological or sensory experiences. Just as the bodies, which silently occupy the space of the canvas, are depicted in psychologically dense poses, still lifes and settings likewise share an introspective tendency. Through dense colors with controlled shades, Geerk constructs suspended and dreamlike images, permeated by a sense of ambiguity that always remains unresolved. The exhibition offers a comprehensive perspective on the painting of Lenz Geerk, bringing together a group of works that conveys a search shaped by time, attention, and emotional nuance. Moving through portraits, still lifes, and other recurring motifs of Geerk, the works articulate a mode of image-making that is at once disciplined and evocative.
