I Soldi dell’Assedio. La moneta a Torino nel 1706
25 September 2026 — 22 November 2026 · Torino

Place: Historic Archives of the City of Turin. Address: Via Giuseppe Barbaroux, 32 - Turin. Organizer: none The exhibition “I Soldi dell’Assedio. La moneta a Torino nel 1706”, hosted at the Historic Archives of the City of Turin on Via Barbaroux 32, tells the story of the Siege of 1706 through a little-known perspective: the role of coinage in the life of the city and in its ability to resist during the months of the French blockade. On the 320th anniversary of the end of the Siege, the exhibition brings together coins, medals, documents, prints and period volumes. Among the materials on display are coins minted by the Turin Mint during the reign of Victor Amadeus II, including pieces produced precisely in the days of the siege, when even the silver made available by the people of Turin helped support the city’s military expenses and supplies. The exhibition thus explores a lesser-known aspect of the history of 1706, placing the economic and social dimension alongside the military one. The exhibition, with free admission, can be visited until 22 November 2026, from Monday to Friday from 8.30 to 16.30. Free guided tours are scheduled every Thursday
