I Pianisti del Lingotto. Eric Lu
2 March 2027 — 2 March 2027 · Torino

Location: Sala 500. Address: Via Nizza 280 The American pianist Eric Lu makes his debut at the Lingotto at a moment of particular international significance. In 2025 he won first prize at the Chopin Competition, crowning a path that began ten years earlier: trained at the prestigious Curtis Institute in Philadelphia, in 2015, at just seventeen, he had already won fourth prize in Warsaw, then received the top honour in 2018 at the Leeds Competition, the oldest in Europe. For his Turin recital, Lu builds a programme that faithfully reflects his deepest affinities: Brahms, Schumann, Chopin, but also Rachmaninov and Prokof’ev. The programme spans more than a century of piano writing, ranging from the intimacy of Schumann’s Kinderszenen to the rhythmic violence and dramatic tension of Prokof’ev’s Seventh Sonata, passing through Chopin’s visionary Polonaise-Fantasy, among the composer’s last and most enigmatic pages.
