Address: Via Nizza 280 Few pianists in the world have such an exclusive and profound relationship with Bach as Angela Hewitt: the Canadian performer, alongside her latest commitments with the complete Mozart Sonatas for Hyperion and the Mozart Odissey - the complete performance of Mozart’s Concertos - does not interrupt the dialogue with the composer who made her famous, starting with her victory at the Toronto International Bach Piano Competition in 1985. Since then that bond has only deepened, up to the monumental Bach Odyssey (2016-2022), in which she performed the complete keyboard works in twelve recitals presented all over the world. Hewitt returns as guest in Sala 500 with a two-part programme: six pairs of preludes and fugues alternated from the two books of The Well-Tempered Clavier, which move through the keys with the logic of a system and the freedom of a journey; this is followed by Partita No. 4 in D major, the most sumptuous of the six, in which movements of orchestral character alternate with pages of intimate expressiveness.
