I Concerti del Lingotto. Daniil Trifonov

Address: Via Nizza 280 Ten years after his first appearance on the Lingotto Musica stage, Daniil Trifonov returns for a solo recital that spans three centuries of music history and two continents. Winner in 2011 of two of the world’s most prestigious piano competitions - the Rubinstein in Tel Aviv and the Tchaikovsky in Moscow - Trifonov has been a Deutsche Grammophon artist since 2013, with an outstanding discography that earned him the Grammy Award in 2018. The evening opens in Baroque style with a Suite by Handel, then continues with Stravinsky’s twentieth-century Sonata, before reaching the romantic heights of Schubert’s Wanderer Fantasy. From Europe we then move on to South America, with a second part dedicated to exploring the Latin-American soul: dances and miniatures by Dominican, Brazilian and Argentine composers intertwine with a Tango written by Trifonov himself, revealing a performer capable of inhabiting sound worlds very distant from one another with equal depth.
