Canelli in teatro - LO SCHIACCIANOCI

End: 12:30 “The Nutcracker” is apparently the least dramatic ballet of Tchaikovsky's trilogy, but in reality it is a journey of growth, choices and detachment from the world of childhood. The anxieties of the young Clara are the anxieties of children who are coming into adult life, distancing themselves from their fantasy world, from the protection of their own fetishes. In this version of mine, freely inspired by the ballet of the same name, the Sugar Plum Fairy will be the guiding character who leads Clara and the spectators among sweets and mysterious gifts, in a progressive maturation through the choice of surprises that are not always happy but useful, and where the mice represent the dark soul, the ghosts and the anxieties of a young girl still unaware of herself. To the notes of Tchaikovsky's extraordinary score, I imagined a new path for Clara, firmly tied, on a choreographic level, to classical-academic roots while being a ballet with a contemporary structure, stripping the narrative of all or almost all the episodes of the first act.
