Atelier dei moderni. Matisse, Braque, Picasso, Bacon

Venue: Reggia di Venaria. Address: Reggia di Venaria, Piazza della Repubblica, 4, 10078 Venaria Reale, TO Sixty works tell the story of the twentieth century through its protagonists and the place where everything began: the studio. The exhibition Atelier dei Moderni. Matisse, Braque, Picasso, Bacon offers a fascinating journey through twentieth-century painting, exploring the evolution of European modern art. Through a selection of works by absolute masters such as Matisse, Picasso, Braque, Derain, Dubuffet, Lam, Hartung, Hantaï, Bacon and many others, the exhibition route highlights the profound transformations in the artistic language of the last century: from the search for the purity of forms and colour to the dramatic tensions of Expressionism and postwar figurative art. Atelier dei Moderni is an unmissable opportunity to grasp the aspects of creative freedom and the aesthetic revolution that marked twentieth-century art. Some of the works on display in the exhibition directly evoke the studio, a key space, a hub of creation and experimentation but also an intimate space and a space for dialogue and relationships among artists.
