Place: Museo del Palio. Address: Museo del Palio, Via Cardinal Massaia 5, 14100 Asti, AT Set up at the Museo del Palio in the historic Palazzo Mazzola, the exhibition is a well-deserved tribute to Antonio Guarene, who recently passed away in 2022 at the age of 87: one of the artists who best managed to interpret the soul of the city of Asti. On display is a selection of works in which his graphic mark, essential and strongly expressive, becomes a narration of city life, the districts and neighborhoods, the Palio with the historical parade and the emotions of the race. Architect, illustrator and artist, Guarene was a protagonist in the recent history of the Asti Palio: he was in fact responsible for the project for the return of the race to Campo del Palio in 1967 and for the move to Piazza Alfieri in 1988. Twice, in 2001 and in 2018, Guarene was also Maestro del Palio, with the official role of conceiving and painting the banner of the event. Exhibition hours. Monday to Friday 9.00-13.00, Tuesday and Thursday also 15.00-17.30 Saturday and Sunday 15.00 - 18.00 (until 30 September). Info: 0141 399359.
