39° Sagra della Bagna Cauda

In the small town of Belveglio, among the hills of the Asti area, the Sagra della Bagna Cauda is a tribute to the most traditional of Piedmontese preparations. This hot sauce based on garlic, anchovies and oil – which once was the symbol of poor cuisine – today becomes the star of a convivial gathering that attracts enthusiasts from all over the region. During the festival, the tables fill with crudités of vegetables – cardoons, peppers, Jerusalem artichokes – to be dipped in the bagna cauda served in the typical terracotta fujot. Among the accompanying dishes you will find rustic starters, traditional desserts, local cheeses and full-bodied red wines. The festival is also an opportunity to talk about gastronomic culture, with workshops, exhibitions and musical moments that enliven the small village.
