Few people know, however, that it tells the true story of Fernanda Farias de Albuquerque, a Brazilian transgender woman nicknamed Princesa. From childhood Fernanda does not पहचान herself in her own body and embarks on a long and difficult journey, from rural Brazil to the great European metropolises, in search of her identity and the freedom to be herself. The show, inspired by authentic letters and real testimonies, is set in the Rebibbia prison, where Princesa retraces her life among memories, dreams and melancholy. Behind bars an intense bond is born with Giovanni, a Sardinian lifer who, without ever speaking, offers her listening and comfort. That relationship becomes a refuge capable of restoring dignity and hope to her, even if her torments will resurface once she leaves prison. Giving voice to this story is Vladimir Luxuria, in an intense and deeply authentic performance, which restores to the audience all the humanity, courage and fragility of a truly happened story.
