Tradizioni in Sagra

Varzo celebrates Tradizioni in Sagra in October, the festival that brings to the center the products and customs of Val Divedro in the upper Ossola. Varzo, a mountain town in Val Divedro, the valley that rises toward the Simplon Pass and the border with Switzerland, dedicates to the festival an autumn fair that celebrates the traditions and flavors of the alpine community. The festival fills the village streets with stalls and food stands offering the typical products of the valley, from alpine cheeses to cured meats, from polenta to dishes of Ossola cuisine, accompanied by local products. The stalls offer mountain handicrafts and produce from the land, and the fair combines gastronomy with markets, reenactments of traditions, live music and activities for families, in an autumn festival that celebrates the culture of the valley. Varzo preserves a compact village in Val Divedro, land of mountains and alpine pastures at the foot of the peaks of upper Ossola, crossed by the Simplon railway that connects Italy to Switzerland through the famous tunnel. The valley offers visitors trails, alpine pastures, mountain lakes and views among the mountains, with Alpe Veglia, a protected area of great bel
