The show, inspired by Elvio Fassone’s autobiographical text and enriched by interviews with the author, transforms the epistolary dialogue into a stage encounter. During a sleepless night, before yet another hearing for parole, Salvatore retraces letter by letter his relationship with the president and what he has lived through: thirty years in prison with no possibility of getting out. A show that speaks of different, opposite worlds, of freedom and of insurmountable walls. And it becomes the spokesperson for a question: “today, for a society that calls itself civilised, does it still make sense to speak of life imprisonment?”
