Stagione teatrale 2026/2027: Poveri cristi
5 March 2027 — 5 March 2027 · 21:00:00 · Asti
Venue: Teatro Alfieri. Address: Via al Teatro, 2 14100 Asti AT Italy. End: 23:00 Text by and with Ascanio Celestini music Gianluca Casadei technical direction Andrea Pesce production Fabbrica, Teatro Carcano Poveri cristi brings to the stage the invisible destinies of the inhabitants of a Roman suburb. The lives of Giobbe, an illiterate warehouse worker with a technique for sorting goods, of the Old Woman who teaches the Prostitute free access to culture, of Joseph, who before arriving in Italy was a grave-digger, migrant, slave, shipwrecked man, prisoner, porter and vagrant. A varied humanity, made up of gypsy children, racist men and even a saint, intertwines in a choral narrative. Celestini builds a dramaturgy of authentic words, collected over years of interviews and direct listening, which merges with Casadei's jazz, in an interaction between music and stories that is always new at every performance.
