Stagione teatrale 2026/2027: La tempesta
23 February 2027 — 23 February 2027 · 21:00:00 · Asti
Venue: Teatro Alfieri. Address: Via al Teatro, 2 14100 Asti AT Italy. End: 23:00 Text text and direction Antonio Viganò choreography Eleonora Chiocchini with Jason De Majo, Rodrigo Scaggiante, Sara Menestrina, Michael Untertrifaller, Stefania Muratori Mazzilli, Johannes Notdurfter, Francesco Pennacchia, Rocco Ventura production Teatro la Ribalta – Kunst der Vielfalt, Gli Scarti ETS in collaboration with Olinda – Residenza Artistica – TeatroLaCucina A theatre company tackles rehearsals for Shakespeare's The Tempest with little time available. While the actors oscillate between themselves and the characters they are about to embody, on stage Prospero's island takes shape, the island of the deposed duke and powerful magician, who puts into action a revenge against the enemies who have arrived shipwrecked on the island. Around him, loves, plots and the desire for freedom of Ariel and Caliban intertwine. Little by little the boundary between reality and fiction dissolves: the tensions between the characters are reflected in the actors' dynamics. The Tempest thus becomes an inner journey and the island, from a place of exclusion, is transformed into a space of rebirth, where theatre becomes salvation and an act of freedom.
