This is what "Soul Gardens", a project of the Distretto turistico dei laghi (Lake Maggiore, Lake Orta, Lake Mergozzo, Ossola Valleys), aims to promote. A Piedmontese example of modern garden tourism, Soul Gardens intends to take visitors to discover the villas and gardens that dot Lake Maggiore, Lake Orta and the Ossola Valleys in upper Piedmont. This is not only a journey for the eyes, but a journey of the heart. The project includes great historic residences and botanical gardens, already well known to the general public. In addition to this, however, it leads to the discovery of hidden gardens, ancient parks and UNESCO heritage sites, less known and, for that very reason, even more worthy of being admired in their naturalistic and cultural aspect.
