Place: Moriondo. Organizer: Pro Loco di Moriondo Torinese Among the hills of the Turin area sloping down toward the Asti plain, Moriondo turns into an authentic open-air museum of Piedmontese rural tradition. The Sagra del Cavolo Liscio celebrates an ancient and forgotten variety of cabbage, cultivated for generations in the lands of lower Piedmont, rediscovering genuine flavors and deep ties with the land. From 17 to 20 October 2026, the festival offers total immersion in rural culture: steaming soups, cabbage stewed with sausage, stuffed savoy cabbages and homemade preserves become the protagonists of a gastronomic tale that speaks of seasons, hard work and peasant wisdom. Beyond the table, the festival promotes the cultural and agricultural heritage of the area through exhibitions dedicated to cultivation traditions, markets with local producers and educational activities designed for adults and children. It is an opportunity to understand the cycle of nature and the indissoluble relationship between the land and Piedmontese popular cuisine, where every vegetable tells stories of labor and dedication.
