RIO Un rituale commestibile

End: 13:00 At the center are the sprouts, grown and harvested directly from terracotta elements designed to support their growth. Around them, sourdough bread, cheeses and other local products make up a landscape to observe, cross and finally eat together. Germination thus becomes the starting point for reflecting on the origin of food and on the gestures that come before it reaches our tables: cultivate, wait, harvest, share. A simple process that connects care, time, matter and nourishment. With Rio, designers Francisca Sotto and Sofia Magalhães invite us to slow down and bring attention back to food systems that are closer, local and shared, turning breakfast into a small collective ritual. In the project, terracotta germinators and germination practices are conceived as accessible tools to reconnect food production, community and environment.
