Address: Municipalities of Valsesia, 13019 Varallo, VC For 2026, Valsesia proposes the series “Queens of Yesterday, Women of Today”, a calendar of twelve events spread throughout the year dedicated to promoting the area and the female stories that have marked it. The event offers residents and visitors cultural experiences, excursions and routes through the villages, with particular attention to the historical, artistic and natural heritage of the area. The project is inspired by the centenary of the death of Queen Margherita of Savoy and aims to highlight the role of women in the life and collective memory of Valsesia. The initiatives include guided tours, outdoor activities and moments of tasting local products, allowing visitors to discover picturesque corners of the Valsesian municipalities and to delve into traditions and typical trades. The first stop on the programme took place on 25 January in the Municipality of Cellio con Breia, with a route through history, culture and local production, accompanied by stories intertwining the female past and present.
