Mostra “Kochō, eleganti metamorfosi”

Elegant metamorphoses” will be inaugurated on Saturday 10 October 2026 at 17,30, in the Salone Marescalchi of the Castle of Casale Monferrato: an exhibition of kimono, obi and accessories in dialogue with works of art dedicated to the theme of metamorphosis, curated by Rossella Marangoni, yamatologist of the Italian Association for Japanese Studies. Promoted by the Yamato cultural association on the occasion of the tenth anniversary of its founding, the exhibition develops a path dedicated to transformation in Japanese culture, understood not only as a change of form, but also as passage between conditions, identities and different worlds. The initial core of the exhibition consists of a selection of kimono from a private collection, united by the recurring presence of the butterfly, a figure with strong symbolic value in Japanese culture, associated with spring and love, but also with death, rebirth, metamorphosis and impermanence.
