Venue: Bellarte. Address: Via Ludovico Bellardi 116 - Turin. Organizer: Tedacà. End: 20:30 Directed by Emma Dante, based on Lo cunto de li cunti by Giambattista Basile, a collection of fifty folk tales. “La scortecata” tells of a king who falls in love with the voice of an old woman and is deceived by her appearance. When he discovers the truth, he throws her out of the window, but a fairy transforms her into a beautiful young woman whom the king marries. The story is performed by two men who portray the characters in a theatrical and ironic way. The moral criticizes vanity, especially when it leads to ridiculous and self-destructive excesses.
