In September, the schedule of railway appointments dedicated to those who want to discover this corner of Piedmont in a different way starts up again, recovering the pleasure of a slow journey through plains, hills and mountains. The main route connects Novara to Varallo Sesia along a railway that in 2026 celebrates an important anniversary: 140 years have passed since the completion of the line, which took place in 1886. From the windows, the landscape changes kilometer by kilometer: leaving the Novara plain, the train gradually reaches the first hills and then the valley, passing through the area of Romagnano Sesia, Grignasco, Monte Fenera and Borgosesia, before arriving in Varallo. What makes the experience special is not only the historic railway material. During the various events, accompanying activities are planned and, once Varallo is reached, opportunities to get to know the town center and its artistic and cultural heritage.
