Venue: Auditorium Giovanni Agnelli. Address: Via Nizza 280 With the return of one of the greatest Italian conductors and beyond, the 2026-2027 season of the Lingotto Concerts opens. Daniele Gatti, who has a longstanding and historically established relationship with Lingotto Musica, has been principal conductor of the Sächsische Staatskapelle Dresden since 2024, one of the oldest and most prestigious orchestras in Europe, once led by figures such as Weber, Wagner and Strauss. The first part of the programme is devoted to Wagner: the instrumental pieces from Parsifal, the composer's final masterpiece, find in both the orchestra and the conductor interpreters of choice, both linked to the Wagnerian universe by a profound and widely recognized authority-based relationship. This is followed by Brahms's Second Symphony, a spacious and luminous work that opens an unexpected dialogue between two giants of late German Romanticism, often considered alternatives, yet united by the same Beethovenian legacy.
