Location: Auditorium Giovanni Agnelli. Address: Via Nizza 280 Gramophone magazine described him as “a true phenomenon, a fiery virtuoso with poetic charm and innate stylistic mastery”: Alexandre Kantorow, born in 1997, was the first Frenchman to win the Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow in 2019, receiving definitive acclaim in 2023 with the prestigious Gilmore Artist Award. In his debut for Lingotto Musica, he is called upon to tackle Brahms' monumental First Piano Concerto, an early work of extraordinary ambition and dramatic tension, almost a “symphony with piano”; accompanying him are Antonio Pappano - conductor of the London Symphony - and the Chamber Orchestra of Europe, backed by a lasting artistic partnership. In the same key of D minor, the evening concludes with Dvořák's Seventh Symphony, in which Brahmsian formal rigor intertwines with reminiscences of traditional Czech music.
