Place: Palazzina di Caccia di Stupinigi. Address: Piazza Principe Amedeo, 7 As part of the celebrations for the hundredth anniversary of the death of Queen Margherita, the exhibition recalls the bond between Italy's first queen and the composer. It was in fact Queen Margherita who financially supported young Puccini’s studies in 1880, so that he could attend the Conservatory. A gesture that testifies to the sovereign’s attention to the country’s cultural and artistic education. This bond is recounted through the original costumes made for Carmine Gallone’s 1953 film Puccini. The costumes, created by the renowned set and costume designer Georges Annenkov, will be exhibited together with film memorabilia and a historic movie camera, in a journey through music, cinema, costume and Italian history. Admission to the exhibition is included in the Palazzina visiting route.
