Fungo in Festa a Giaveno

Organizer: Pro Loco Giaveno In Val Sangone the coordinates of the places where mushrooms grow are passed down from father to son with the absolute prohibition of revealing them to people outside the family. The mushroom has now been chosen for forty years as the typical product of excellence of Giaveno, which likes to define itself as its “capital”. “ Fungo in festa ” takes place in the month of October and in 2021 it received from the Region of Piedmont the title of regional fair. Meeting the requirements has made it possible to enter the “club” of the most famous fairs, alongside the Sagra del Peperone di Carmagnola and the Fiera del Tartufo di Alba, to mention the most famous and nearby ones. Giaveno is the only Piedmontese city to have a regional fair dedicated to mushrooms. This year too the event is confirmed from 1 to 11 October 2026, but with a historic new feature: for the first time the event will take place with the prestigious recognition of National Fair, a milestone that rewards over forty years of growth of the event.
