The Fiera is an ancient traditional festival held around 6 December, celebrating the common medlar (Mespilus germanica), the "puciu", and San Nicolao, with distribution of a hearty soup (often based on tripe), stalls of local products and Langhe specialities, tastings and cultural initiatives, with a focus on the area’s excellences and local history. The real highlight of the festival, the one that attracts the most curious and the hungriest, is the “men’s soup”: a robust minestrone made with vegetables, tripe and Nucetto chickpeas. The speciality is so important that the men of the town prepare it throughout the night and then distribute it, steaming and restorative, starting from late morning on Sunday.
