Organizer: Comune di Sant’Ambrogio di Torino The Patronal Feast of San Giovanni Vincenzo is an event of deep tradition and great participation that enlivens Sant’Ambrogio di Torino, a historic village nestled at the gateway to the Val di Susa. This celebration is a heartfelt tribute to the town’s Patron Saint, San Giovanni Vincenzo, a figure of capital importance for Sant’Ambrogio. He was a hermit and, above all, the founder of the renowned Sacra di San Michele, the imposing abbey that rises majestically over the surrounding landscape. The feast is a fascinating mosaic of religious rites and civil traditions that involve the entire community, creating an unbreakable bond between past and present. Among the most evocative elements stands out the figure of the Abbà, a sort of “leader of the people” whose investiture is a central and much-anticipated moment. The ancient Società Abbadia, a confraternity with deep roots in local history, is devoted to safeguarding the Saint’s relics.
