The star of the event, among the most eagerly awaited of the autumn season, is the Marrone di Chiusa di Pesio, a prized fruit whose typical growing area is the agricultural zone of the “Vigne”, just below the town. In addition to the gastronomic moments, the festival also offers ample space for crafts and culture, with proposals designed to welcome the large public of residents, visitors, and tourists. Photo credits: ©Luca Erbì From 22 to 25 October 2026 the historic center of Chiusa di Pesio fills with the smell of roasted chestnuts for the 28ª Festa del Re Marrone, four days dedicated to the fruit symbol of autumn in the Cuneo valleys. The Mundajé: the challenge among chestnut roasters expands this year to two days, with the qualifying rounds on Saturday afternoon and the final on Sunday morning. Among stalls and traditions: talks, demonstrations of ancient crafts, folklore moments and the flavors of mountain cuisine, with chestnut-based products as the stars.
