Castagne e Coltelli

Organizer: Pro Loco Frabosa Soprana In the heart of the Monregalese Alps, Frabosa Soprana is preparing to welcome one of the area's most eagerly awaited autumn events: Castagne e Coltelli, scheduled for the second weekend of October. An event that, year after year, proves to be well attended and a strong part of local identity, organized with passion by the Pro Loco in collaboration with the Municipality and awarded the prestigious “Marchio di Qualità EPLI”, conferred on 18 March 2026 at Palazzo Montecitorio. For two days, piazza Marconi, piazza Municipio and the streets of the town turn into a lively taste trail, where the sweet and savoury market showcases local typical products: mountain cheeses, mountain honeys, chestnut sweets and traditional dishes. The distribution of roasted chestnuts is unmissable, symbol of a mountain culture that finds in the chestnut tree a food, economic and landscape resource. Alongside taste, the ancient Frabosa knife-making art, documented since 1790, takes centre stage. The exhibition of knife-makers from the province of Cuneo and the visit to the workshop offer a close look at blades and sharp ironware
