The Sagra del Peperone in Frassineto Po transforms this peaceful village on the banks of the Po into a lively celebration of flavors and culture: this historic event celebrates the pepper, an excellent local product, offering a rich range of typical dishes that enhance the culinary specialties of Monferrato. Visitors can indeed delight their palates with a wide variety of dishes, from agnolotti with roast sauce to peppers in bagna cauda, gnocchi with peppers and gorgonzola and wild boar with polenta, not forgetting vegetarian options, to please all tastes. The highlight of the festival, however, is the spectacular overturning of the maxi cauldron of polenta, a scenic event in which 600 kg of polenta are served with peperonata and sausage, offering a unique experience to be lived and tasted. But the pepper festival is not only a culinary experience: the festive days are also enlivened by musical performances with orchestras, bands and disco evenings, stalls selling crafts, hobby items and local products.
