47° Fiera del porro

The “Fiera del Porro Cervere” takes place over the two weeks of November tied to the harvest of this exceptional vegetable in the town of the same name in the province of Cuneo. Extremely fragrant and protected by a special consortium, the leek is the central element of an event designed to highlight its constant presence within Piedmontese gastronomy. In the Palaporro, built for the occasion, it is possible to taste this Italian excellence in all sauces: with polenta, with stewed veal, in Pastis ‘d Cesca, in risotto, with tripe soup, with wild boar morsels. Local chefs, innkeepers and producers work to create a series of menus designed for every dietary need, also succeeding in enhancing other food and wine products (and beers) from the Cuneo area: Vernazza focaccia, Piedmontese boiled meat, white rabbit from Tarantasca, Barolo, Barbaresco d’Alba. In short, a paradise for lovers of products from this region. During the fair days, it is possible to buy directly from the many producers in the area at the “Mercato del Porro”. Reservations for lunch and dinner are recommended.
