Once upon a time frogs were at the base of the diet of San Ponso Canavese: for 22 editions the town has remembered its nickname of "raner" (in dialect "those of the frogs") by organizing a festival entirely dedicated to this small amphibian. The true culinary specialty of this event is the preparation of frogs fried in batter, enriched and accompanied by a themed menu. Supporting the organization there is plenty of good music, exhibitions of tractors, motorcycles and vintage cars, dance evenings, routes and tastings of local typical products.
